Burma Road from Hwy. 140 to Water Well Road will be closed Monday (June 2nd) morning to through traffic to permit a crew from APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Division to place an asphalt overlay. It is anticipated that all construction activity will be completed on or before Friday, June 6th, and the road reopened to traffic. Of course, completion of the project by this date is dependent on the weather.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and allow a few extra minutes of travel time to reach their destinations. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private properties within the closed section of Burma Road at all times but only from the side of the moving work zone that their properties lies upon.

APAC-Kansas, Inc. Shears Division was awarded a contract for $1,146,560.00 Project 14-5305: Countywide Hot-Mix Patching, Leveling, Surface Course, and Profile Milling by the Saline Board of County Commissioners on March 25, 2014. The work on Burma Road is the third section of road work under that contract.
