Thunderstorms brought wind and hail damage and heavy rain to portions of central Kansas Thursday morning.

Winds were clocked at 60-80 miles-per-hour that knocked down power lines, trees, and caused some roof damage. Rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches were common across much of the area.

Hail up to the size of baseballs was reported in the McPherson area.

Episodes of severe weather and heavy rainfall will continue to affect central and eastern Kansas through the weekend. Damaging winds and large hail will remain the primary severe weather risks. Heavy rainfall may lead to minor lowland flooding as well.
