bei40815Thelma L. Beichle, 94, of Salina, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2014. She was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Saline County near Glendale, the daughter of John and Alma (Curtis) Gruber.

Thelma married Otis Beichle on Sept. 11, 1937. She was a homemaker and had worked for Tony’s and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis; two sons, Ben and Willis; daughter, Carolyn; two grandchildren, Amy Beichle and Gary Wolf; and four brothers, Bobbie, Charles, Howard and Clifton.

She is survived by four sons, Larry (Sharon), of Salina, Ken (Mary), of Humphreys, Mo., John, of Bennington, and Jimmy, of Salina; two daughters, Barbara Beichle, of Salina, and Bonnie (Herb) Griggs, of Tescott; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Her surviving brother is Carl Gruber, of New Cambria.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, with family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salina. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, New Cambria.

Memorials are suggested to the church.

vet_ffffffWilliam Alexander “Alex” Johnson, 43, of Salina, passed away Thursday, August 14th.

Alex was born in Gary, IN on August 15, 1970, to James Johnson and the late Alice (Bradley) Johnson.

Alex was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was the husband of Tori (Louviere) Johnson, who survives.

Alex is also survived by his father; sons, Logan, Christian, and Gabriel Johnson; brothers, John (Sara) Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Michael Johnson; sisters, Mary (Bob) Green, Peggy, Sandy (Marvin), Margaret, Alice Jane (Judson) Alford, Alla (Ken) Furbee, and Ivana Lynn (Todd) King.

Cremation has been chosen and services are not planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. They may be sent in care of the funeral home; 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
