Dr. Mark Bell has been chosen BANK VI Hero of the Week for fifteen years of service and dedication to The Boy Scouts of America.

Bell first became involved with scouting when his son joined in 2nd grade. Soon after, he took a pack leader position and then became committee chairman for Pack 29. He is currently Scoutmaster of Troop #2 and also teaches archery and shooting during summer camp. According to his scouting peers, he has guided at least a dozen scouts through Eagle rank and continues to lead even though his son graduated last year.

Dr. Bell expressed how being in the scouts teaches young men to stick with something and obtain different applicable skills.

“It’s basically the way to get kids off the couch and experience the real world verses the virtual world,” said Bell.
