A Salina man who was shot twice during an argument on August 18th in north Salina, is arrested on requested charges of aggravated battery. Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said 20-year-old Melchizedek Fitzgerald was arrested Monday, after being discharged from a Wichita hospital.
Fitzgerald was arrested on a warrant in connection with an incident on August 4th, where he struck 21-year-old Macio Palacio with a board during an argument in the parking lot of Braum’s on West Crawford. Police were notified of the incident after Palacio went to the Salina Regional Health Center Emergency Room for treatment of an injury.
Fitzgerald was shot twice in the abdomen the early afternoon of August 18th during a confrontation with 34-year-old Raymond Isom at an apartment at 821 N. 2nd. Isom is in the Saline County Jail on several charges including attempted 1st degree murder, and aggravated battery.
