A-29-year-old Salina woman was arrested Monday on charges of theft by deception, theft and forgery.

Mary Parks is accused of taking a credit card and two checkbooks belonging to Wanda Shaw of Salina in early August.

With the VISA credit card, Parks allegedly made two purchases totaling just over $76.

She is also accused of writing checks on two separate accounts totaling $997.

Shaw discovered the unauthorized use of the checkbooks when she was notified by the bank that the account was overdrawn.

Shaw contacted police on August 22nd.

Parks used to live in Shaw’s home.
