The Salina Public Library is hosting a presentation on fluoride tonight at 7pm in the Prescott room. The presentation is called “Things You Need to Know about Fluoride.”

The vote to take fluoride out of Salina’s water supply has been an on going issue for many Salina citizens. The vote will be held on November 4th. Concerns from some Salina citizens stem from the fact that this chemical is not added to the water as a form of making the water safe to drink, but rather as a form of medication for strengthening teeth. Another concern is that the fluoride that is put in Salina’s water supply is considered hazardous waste by the EPA, and therefore is labeled toxic, as seen in the photo.
