Join the Kansas Wesleyan basketball teams this Saturday night for Late Night with the Yotes starting at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Mabee Arena on the Kansas Wesleyan campus. This is the second year the Coyotes have hosted a ‘Late Night’ event to kick off the basketball season.

The event will begin at 11:30 with performances from the Coyote Spirit Teams followed by team introductions of both the men’s and women’s teams. There will be a 3-point contest between members of the basketball teams along with a student vs player challenge with an outstanding prize on the line.

Representatives from both the men’s and women’s teams will speak featuring women’s seniors Vanessa Kresin (SR/Glen Elder, Kan.) and Kalie LeShore (SR/Great Bend, Kan.) and men’s senior Michael Johnson (SR/Alice, Texas) and junior Dylan Hidalgo (JR/Tucson, Ariz.). After that each team will conduct an intrasquad scrimmage to get the season started.

The Coyote basketball teams will open their 2014-15 regular seasons at the end of October. The women will open their season on November 1 at home against Stephens College (Mo.) in a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The men open their season on October 29 at Doane College at 7 p.m., and will make their home debut on October 31 at 7 p.m. against Concordia (Neb.) in Mabee Arena.
