As part of First Thursday’s Art Rush on April 7, Salina Public Library will welcome Ann Zimmerman in the Library’s lobby and artist Sally Fiedler in Café Choices Gallery (south corridor entrance) from 5-7 p.m.
Zimmerman has traveled across the Great Plains to New York, Seattle, Boston, Texas and Alaska with her own award-winning vocals with piano and guitar and has released three independent recordings of her music.
Fiedler’s pen and ink drawings, along with some pencil, represent work done over the course of several years. While her subjects feature recognizable human forms, there is often something otherworldly about them. At 73, Fiedler resides in a nursing home and uses her art as a way to express her imagination and “what comes out of her brain” as well as to escape her health problems.

“I like people to see my artwork and know there’s people my age that have something to give back to the community,” she said.
The exhibit will be on display through April 21.
