LINDSBORG, Kan.— The Kansas Humanities Council and Bethany College adjunct professor of film Eric Monder present “Kansas at the Movies,” a compilation of ten films made in or about Kansas. One film will be shown at the McPherson Opera House every Thursday night at 7 p.m. from March 17 to May 19. Admission is free and open to the public.
Monder has been an adjunct professor of film at Bethany College since 2004. Monder is also a presenter in the Kansas Humanities Council’s Speakers Bureau and FLIKS programs and a critic for Film Journal International and The Hollywood Reporter. Monder earned his degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he graduated in 1986 with honors in cinema studies.
Monder hosts discussions about each film, including its production, historical accuracies, and message about Kansas. Kahler has taught American and art history at Bethany since 1988. He earned doctorate and master’s degrees in history-American studies from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Kutztown State College.
