The Salina Police Department has posted a reminder on their Facebook page to be alert for a ransomware scam that is making the rounds on the internet:

Beware: The Salina Police Department was made aware of another scam going around on the internet. The scam appears to be a virus that locks your computer and says you are being investigated for pornography by the FBI and other Federal Agencies. The scammers ask for $500 to unlock your computer.

Please be diligent when contact is made with someone on the internet that you are not familiar with.
