Man charged with damaging electric meter at convenience store

Clinton CampA homeless man was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of damage to property and trespassing.

Police Captain Chris Trocheck said just before 3am Monday morning, 46-year-old Clinton Camp allegedly damaged the electric meter on the back of the Kwik Shop at 305 W. Schilling Road.

A store employee heard a loud noise, and saw a flash of light coming from the back of the store.

The employee said he watched Camp throw the cover of the meter in the trash.

Police were called, and Camp was arrested and taken to jail.

Damage has been estimated in excess of $1,000.
