Rant

There are times when I am glad not to be a resident of the City of Salina. When a sales tax issue was put before the citizens of this town to clean up the old river channel, it was overwhelmingly voted down. Yet, somehow the project still has a heartbeat despite the economy and the disapproval. Even though no money has been allocated yet, the fact that it came to a vote without being listed in the agenda is ridiculous. Wake up Salina! There are those who do not care who pays for this, just as long as they get their way. Shame on the commisioners.

I think that despite all of the criticism from those that only complain and never offer answers, the artwork being placed on S. Ninth is a good thing. First and foremost, we agreed to do it, so we need to follow through with the agreement. Second, that part of the city is so bland. It will be nice to start beautifying this city. It will certainly show that we are not a city of uncultured hillbillies.

The City of Salina should hold the Guinness Book of World Records for worst drivers. Learn how to drive people!

There is absolutely nothing to do in this town. The entertainers that are brought in are horrible. Lets get some acts from this generation.

Hate to burst all you Republican’s bubble but if Romney is on your ticket,  Obama wins 4 more years.

All of the people whining about the potholes need to visit Oklahoma or Colorado. While we have more potholes than normal in Salina, it’s not even close to as bad as other states. We are in an economic lull so things are going to be as peachy as normal, but our frame of reference should be broadened. If you go visit Tulsa, OK then come back to Salina, you’ll see that the roads here are in fantastic shape.

The Smoky Hill River Renewal Project is like a bad horror movie. Every time you think it’s dead, it comes back and methodically chases you, even though you’ve hit it with a shovel, dumped napalm on it, and ran it over with a Mack truck. It will never die. Unless you can find a silver bullet.
