Victims of sexual assault will be the focus of a Prayer and Healing Service at University United Methodist Church Thursday evening.
The service is scheduled for 6:30-7 p.m. in the church, 1509 S. Santa Fe, and is open to the public at no charge. The service is a collaboration of Kansas Wesleyan University, University United Methodist Church, and DVACK.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the United States. According to the Sexual Assault Awareness Month website (www.nsvrc.org/saam), the goal of the month is to “educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence. Each day, people witness a continuum of behaviors that range from being respectful and safe, to sexually abusive and violent.”
