MILTONVALE — Max Richard Reed, 86, of Miltonvale, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015. He was born April 19, 1929, in Oak Hill to Alvin Richard and Ellen Ruth (Sutton) Reed.

He married Ida May Shepard on April 16, 1949, in Cheyenne, Wyo. Max served in the United States Air Force from October 1948 to August 1952. After 18 years of working for Cessna Aircraft, he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Ida May, of the home; son, Douglas (Darlene) Reed, of Derby; daughter, Lynn (Alan) Gilmore, of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Burl Reed.

Cremation has been chosen. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.
