KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 25, 2015) – The Kansas City Royals announced today that the club has placed left-handed pitcher Danny Duffy on the 15-day disabled list with left biceps tendinitis, which is retroactive to May 17.  He will be eligible for reinstatement on June 1. 

To take Duffy’s spot on the 25-man roster, the Royals have recalled left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan from Triple-A Omaha.  Finnegan, 22, has made four appearances with the Royals this season, going 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA (2 ER in 6.2 IP).

The Royals also sent outfielder Alex Rios on his rehab assignment with Omaha, which began a four-game series with Tacoma on Monday.  Rios has been on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured left hand since April 14.
