Introducing Cindy Monts, your BANK VI Hero of the Week

MontsIntroducing Cindy Monts, your BANK VI Hero of the Week!

Monts was nominated for her work with Jordan’s Helping Hands. Jordan’s Helping Hands is state registered non-profit organization that assists families and children in need.  The organization, which can currently be found on Facebook, is dedicated to the memory of Jordan Corbin, a 3-month-old infant that tragically passed away in December 2013.

In response to Jordan’s death, Monts and a friend founded the Facebook page. The purpose of the group is mainly for parents to ask for items they may need like blankets, formula, diapers, clothes, and other items.  The group also assists those less fortunate by collecting donations for holidays such as Christmas and Easter.  Monts says she also assists in such things as organizing birthday events and easter egg hunts as well. Jordan’s Helping Hands also offers many resources for parents and families needing assistance.

Jordan’s Helping Hands was initially started when Monts friend, and group co-founder, needed to get rid of some unneeded items and one of the first babies they helped wants Jordan Corban himself. From there, the idea was expanded and the group was formed after Jordan’s death and named after him.  Monts says that a website is also currently being planned to coincide with the Facebook group.

Ultimately, Jordan’s Helping Hands wants to make sure that similar tragedies such as Jordan’s death do not occur in the future. “We want to take stress off of families and parents in need”, Monts said.
