Two Nebraska men were arrested Thursday night after a couple of arguments between them ended with one cutting the other with a razor knife.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Police were notified of a disturbance just outside Oakdale Park during the Festival Jam at about 7:30 p.m.

25-year-old Malcom Richards of Omaha, who owns the Pacific Rim Noodle House which is located in the food court area of the Smoky Hill River Festival, and 23-year-old Kevin Waites also of Omaha, got into an argument, which resulted in Richards asking Waites to leave the park.

Later, Richards left the festival grounds to go to his vehicle, and was confronted by Waites. Waites began to choke Richards, who then used a knife to cut Waites in the upper left arm.

Waites was taken to Salina Regional Health Center where he received 14 stitches and 44 staples to close the cut.

Both men were arrested on charges of aggravated battery. Waites was also charged with robbery for taking a cell phone, and criminal threats.

The men are half brothers.
