Periodic episodes of showers and thunderstorms are expected through mid-week. While isolated occurrences of severe weather are possible during the afternoon through early evening hours, the primary threat will be locally very heavy rain, which could produce areas of minor flooding, especially over southeast Kansas.

Tuesday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. East wind 5 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
