Strong to severe storms are forecast this afternoon and evening over eastern and south central Kansas. The severe storms are much more likely in extreme southeast Kansas, closer to the Missouri border. Storms would be much less likely and more isolated along and west of I-35. In southeast Kansas, the severe storms could produce up to 70 mph winds and golf ball sized hail. Storms are expected to develop mid to late afternoon.
