Sunny, hot with storms across the region

The severe storms are much more likely in extreme southeast Kansas, closer to the Missouri border. Storms would be much less likely and more isolated along and west of I-35. In southeast Kansas, the severe storms could produce up to 70 mph winds and golf ball sized hail. Storms are expected to develop mid to late afternoon.

ThursdayA 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 84. North wind 5 to 11 mph.

Thursday NightA 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable.

FridayA 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. North wind 6 to 9 mph.
