Donald Lee Herl, 77, of Salina, passed away at his home Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in the care of his loving wife and family. He was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Hays, the son of Jacob and Leona (Dingus) Herl. Don was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1954-57 and four years in the Reserves. He married Henrietta Huser on Aug. 1, 1959, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent.
Don was preceded in death by son, Derion Herl, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta; three daughters, Kimberly (Burt) Simpson, Jody Imler and Danna (Frank) Armes; son, Brannon (Michelle) Herl; sister, Almeda Jurgenson; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. The family will receive friends at the church from 8:30 a.m. Thursday until the Mass, with a family rosary beginning at 9:15 a.m. Inurnment will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic Church, Vincent, and St. Mary’s Church Parish or Hospice of Salina, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401.

Cheryl L. Anderson, Age 66, entered into rest on August 2, 2015 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born February 7, 1949 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Clarence Leroy and Lorraine V. (Irvin) Lockhart.
JAMES LELAND EISENMAN, 46 died August 1, 2015 in Clay Center, KS. He was born on July 1, 1969 in Belleville, KS the son of of James and Dala Jean (Douglas) Eisenman. James was raised in Jamestown and graduated from Concordia High School. He served in the US Navy for seven years and was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. James worked at Wardcraft In Clay Center for the last 11 years. He is preceded in death by his mother.

Viola Mae Kearn, 89, Washington, died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Cambridge Place in Marysville.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 5, at the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville, KS. Pastor Ron Brown will officiate.
Visitation is from noon until 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 4 at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Burial is in Morrowville Cemetery.
Viola was born on April 8, 1926 at Alexandria, NE to Charles Faulkner and Laura Menke. She grew up in the Haddam and Morrowville areas and taught school for a period of time.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Kearn on April 24, 1945 and to this union seven children were born. Viola earned her nursing degree at the age of sixty-five and worked for local nursing homes. She did crocheting, embroidery, and loved to birdwatch. Spending time with her family and grandchildren were especially important to her.
Viola was a member of the Morrowville Christian Church, Morrowville. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd; daughter, Verna Mae Kearn; and son, Daniel Kearn.
Survivors include daughters, Joanne (Paul) Dague, Washington, Wilma Conant (Russell Craft), Marysville, Marilyn (Rocky) Lamb, Morrowville; sons, Dale Kearn, Big Cabin, OK, Dean (Jean) Kearn, Washington; step-son, Duane Kearn, Idaho; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial fund is established to the Morrowville Christian Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
