Police arrest a 43-year-old Salina man early Sunday evening on requested charges of possession of stolen property and DUI.

Officers were sent to the 900 block of N. 13th around 6 p.m. on a report of a driver of pickup hitting another parked pickup causing minor damage.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney said the 2004 Silverado valued at $1,800 was taken from a property in the 1700 block of Old Highway 40 sometime during the day Sunday. The keys were in the pickup according to the owner, Lloyd Gregory. Gregory did not know the pickup had been stolen until he was contacted by police.

The driver, Joseph Matson, was taken into custody after hitting a parked 1964 Chevy pickup in a trailer park where he lives. The owner of the damaged truck notified police. It is believed Matson was driving under the influence.
