Thirty-one veterans who have continued a life of service as volunteers through RSVP of Saline County will receive special recognition at the VFW, Wednesday, November 11, following the annual Veterans’ Day observance in Sunset Park.
RSVP of Saline County is collaborating with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that administers RSVP and other Senior Corps volunteer programs, to recognize these dedicated individuals as members of the newly established National Veteran Corps. Each veteran volunteer will receive a specially designed pin, indicating their membership in the Veterans Corps as part of a larger effort to raise awareness of the enduring value veterans bring to communities. Participants in the ceremony will include VFW Post Commander Richard Fisher, Mayor Jon Blanchard and other elected officials, in addition to RSVP staff.
