Wyman Bridge To Reopen Today

SCLogoThe Wyman Road bridge over West Spring Creek will be reopened late this afternoon following completion of the construction of a new three-span concrete haunched slab bridge.  This new bridge replaces an old pony truss bridge with timber deck that was built in 1910 and was closed in 2007 because of structural deficiencies and functional obsolescence.  This project was designed and all necessary bid documents prepared by the Engineering Division of the Saline County Road and Bridge Department.

A contract for $356,245.00 was awarded to the low bidder, King Construction Company, Inc. on April 21, 2015 by the Saline Board of County Commissioners.  The majority of the cost for this bridge (i.e., $346,288.72) was funded through KDOT’s Federal Fund Exchange Program.
