Convenience Store Clerk Victim of Phone Scam

Scam 2A Salina convenience store is out just under $3,000 after an employee was scammed over the phone.

Between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, a clerk at Casey’s, 500 N. Ohio, received a phone call from someone calling from tech support claiming there was a problem with a system for Green Dot money cards and Amazon money cards.

The clerk made six transactions following the instructions of the person on the phone. The total loss amount was $2,979.
