Food Establishment Inspections conducted in Dickinson County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from November 20 through November 26, 2015.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

Enterprise Elementary School, 302 S. High St. – Enterprise (November 23) Regular Inspection
– No Violations

West Walnut Market, 327 W. Walnut St. – Herington (November 25) Regular Inspection
– With gloved hands, cook cracked raw shell eggs, changed gloves, then handled food contact surface of plate without washing hands. Corrected on site: educated cook and hands were washed.
– With gloved hands, cook 2 cracked raw shell egg, then handled ready to eat biscuit without changing gloves or washing hands. Corrected on site: cook 2 was educated, hands washed, and biscuit discarded.
– In 2 door reach-in cooler, baked beans dated November 10, rice dated November 12, turkey noodles dated November 17, zip burger (cooked) dated November 16, pork gravy dated November 17, mashed potatoes dated November 17. In make table, hard boiled eggs dated November 4. All of these foods are dated with prep date per owner. In deli cooler: honey turkey dated November 13, chopped ham dated November 18, Lebanon bologna dated November 8, and salami dated November 11. These foods are dated with opened date per owner. All were held past discard date. Corrected on site: all items discarded.
– No covered trash can in unisex bathroom.
– In outside storage area, boxes of hand soap found setting on shelf above packaged single use straws. Corrected on site: hand soap moved.
– Two packages of Advil congestion relief tablets dated 6/15 on retail shelf. Corrected on site: tablets removed from sale.
