On Monday, December 14, seniors, caregivers and people with disabilities will have a special opportunity to speak with State Representatives John Barker (R), Steve Johnson (R) and Diana Dierks (R).  Participants are invited to share their stories about the services they receive in their day-to-day lives. The forum will happen in Salina at the OCCK Transportation Building, 640 N. Santa Fe from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.  Light refreshments will be available.

The event is sponsored by OCCK, Inc., and North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (NC-FH AAA).  The NC-FH AAA is the region’s designated Aging and Disability Resource Center.

“We invite seniors, family caregivers, people with disabilities, and all interested citizens who live in north central Kansas to speak directly with these elected representatives,” said Julie Govert Walter, Executive Director of the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging. “We’ll learn from each other,” she said.

“This will be a great opportunity for people to provide information to those leaders who represents us in Topeka,” said Sheila Nelson Stout, OCCK Executive Director.

“We are very pleased to have this Legislative Forum in our area.  It will give residents a chance to connect with their legislators, and let them know what concerns are important to Kansans prior to this years’ Legislative Session starting in mid-January,” said Jay Rowh, President of the Kansas Silver Haired Legislators.
