At approximately 3:30 a.m. today Salina Fire Department crews were dispatched to 917 N. 13th Street lot #20, for a report of a trailer house fire.

The resident, Denise Nichols, was asleep at the time of the fire and woke up by the smell of smoke, when she entered the hallway she could see active fire in the living room and kitchen area.

Despite the quick response by fire crews, the trailer house is a total loss.

Fire investigations revealed that the fire originated in the living room area and quickly spread throughout the trailer house.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
