Velda Jean Houser, 79, of Salina, KS, passed away Saturday, December 19th, at Salina Regional Health Center.
Velda was born in Abilene, Kansas on March 9, 1936, to the late Albertena L. (Ruhnke) and Edgar O. Timm.
Velda quilted at the Salina Senior Center every Wednesday, and regularly attended the arthritis exercise program at the YMCA. She was a member of Emmanuel Methodist Church in Abilene.
Velda worked as a vehicle registration office clerk.
Velda was the widow of Richard Houser. They were married Nov. 10, 1962 in Abilene, Kansas.
Survivors include her sons, Theodore “Ted” E.,Houser, and his wife Michelle, of Sharon Springs, Kansas, and Christopher “Kit” A. Houser, of Topeka, Kansas; sister-in-law and caregiver, Cindy Klein, of Salina; sister-in-law, Peggy Houser; as well as granddaughters, Cai, Jaci Ann, Ruth, and Sara; and great granddaughter, Bristol.
Velda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 44 years, Richard Houser; as well as 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Cremation has been chosen. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Thomas “Tom” Ford, 85, of Salina, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015. He was born September 25, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas. Tom coached Little League Baseball and enjoyed music. He was currently the drummer of the Crystal Creek Band.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Gladys E. (Johnson) Ford.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Juanita, of the home; son, Steve Ford, of Windom; daughter, Connie Adams, of Salina; sister, Catherine Berger and husband Lawrence, of Garwood, Texas; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will follow in the Burdick Methodist Cemetery, Burdick. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Karan Diane (Seyler) Godbout, 73, Salina, passed to her Lord on Dec. 19, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born on Dec. 4, 1942 in LeLoup, Kan., the daughter of Oren and Katherine (Barker) Seyler. Karan celebrated her 50th anniversary with her husband Gerald Joseph Godbout in July, 2010.
Karan is preceded in death by her husband, and her mother and father.
She is survived by five children Joe, Jim (Trina), Bryan (Anita), Denise Elmore(John)and Catherine Godbout; her grandchildren Jeremy, Chassy, Hope, Danielle, Ciara, Sandra, Chaz, Carson, Ryan, Charlee and Shelby; her great-grandchildren Skylar, Lilyen, Justin Jr., and Remington; and a brother Harry Seyler.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Jan. 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis Ave., Salina, with Rev. Kevin Hazelton officiating. Inurnment will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Salina. The family suggests memorials to Tammy Walker Cancer Center or First Baptist Church. Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Ruth V. “Ruthie” Richterberg, 75, passed away Monday, December 21st, in Salina. She was born October 30, 1940 in Abilene, the daughter of Dale Harry and Kathleen (Noland) Nash. , Growing up in Abilene, Ruthie attended local schools. On July 25, 1959, she was married to Lee Roy Richterberg. Most all of their married life was spent in Truxton, Missouri. He preceded her in death March 14, 1985. Ruthie then returned to Abilene to make her home. She had been employed by Duckwall Alco for 22 years and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Lois Elizabeth (Wilcox) Glendening passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Redbud Village in Plainville, Kansas at the age of 98. She was born on October 14, 1917 in Phillips County, Kansas to the late Charlie and Bessie (Roy) Wilcox. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, Kansas with the Class of 1935 and went on to attend Fort Hays State College for two years. After college she taught school for thirty years both as a full-time teacher at LaBelle Elementary School in Phillips County and Turkville Grade School in Ellis County as well as being a substitute teacher for the Codell and Plainville schools.
On May 25, 1948 Lois was united in marriage to Max W. Glendening in Hays, Kansas. They were blessed with three sons, Jim, Marc, and Kurt. The teaching job she loved the most was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. Whether cooking, cleaning, or crocheting she raised her family with a kind, loving, and gentle heart. A member of the Baptist Church in Codell for over 40 years, and later in Plainville, her sweet wonderful spirit was felt by all who knew her including being a Senior Companion for 25 years so she could spend time encouraging, praying for, and visiting with her long-time friends and neighbors.
Lois is survived by her sons Jim Glendening and wife Gladys of Hays, Marc Glendening and wife Joni of Plainville, and Kurt Glendening and wife Carol of Lawrence; grandchildren Jim Glendening, Jr. and wife Angela, Lisa Collins and husband Joel, Jennifer Glendening and Dustin Mechnig, Bret Glendening and wife Jacki, Jami Dix and husband Joe, Leaa Merrill, Adam Glendening and wife Cristine, Ryan Glendening and wife Jessica, Lindsey Glendening, and John Glendening; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Bessie Wilcox, husband Max Glendening, brothers Gene Wilcox and Charles Wilcox, and sister Lucille Richmond.
The Apostle Peter wrote, “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” Lois lived her life as a shining example of what it means to be a beautiful woman. She will be greatly missed because she loved greatly and was greatly loved in return.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Plainville. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery near Codell.
