Dorothy L. Brockmeier, 78, of Salina, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015. She was born February 19, 1937, in Wayne, Kansas, the daughter of Wendell and Myrtle Newman. Dorothy married Paul A. Brockmeier on August 4, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Salina.
Dorothy worked as a registered nurse at local nursing homes. Dorothy was very involved with Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed visiting with fellow parishioners from church, gardening and reading.
She was preceded in death is her parents; and brothers, Lloyd D. and Jerry L. Newman.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Paul, of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Lindgren, of Salina, and Nicole Klinemeier (Kevin), of Seattle, WA; son, Allen Brockmeier (Lynda), of Leoti, KS; brother, Ray J. Newman (JoAnne), of Concordia; sister, Eleanor Dosett (Anson), of McPherson; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St, Salina. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. 7th St, Salina, with burial to follow in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church and left in care of the mortuary.

Milton A. “Corkie” Youngdahl, 72, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015. He was born Dec. 12, 1943, in Salina, to the late Francis and LaRie (Tucker) Youngdahl.
He graduated from Salina High in 1962. He worked for Schwans for 25 years.
Survivors include his life partner, Susan Herrman, of Salina; niece, Amy Paden; sister, Shirley; and two nephews.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, and funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, both at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Culver.

Ursula E. Evilsizer, 81, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at her home. She was born in Konigsberg, Germany to Fritz and Erna Tollkuehn.
After retirement, Ursula, volunteered at St. John’s and Asbury Hospital in Salina.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph, of the home; sons, Winfred and Richard and wife Louann, of Dallas; daughter, Sandra, of Salina; grandchildren, Joe and wife Marian, of St. Pete, Fla., Tyler and wife Susan, of Tulsa, Okla., and Christina Evilsizer, of New Orleans; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death with her parents and son, Johnny.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Ryan Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Carney Lee Hinz, of rural Newton, 77, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2015, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born December 19, 1938, to Glenn & Viola (Trego) Hinz in Newton, KS. He grew up in the same mile section where he had two different homesteads and the land he helped farm. He graduated from Burns High School in 1957. Carney was a member of the Army National Guard. He married Marilyn Marie Perley on July 14, 1962. They were married 47 years. Carney grew up farming; he continued to farm along with operating the township maintainer for Fairmount Township. He began working as an oil field pumper for Petro Fina and Baker Oil in the fall of 1962. He continued pumping until the fall of 2015. He worked for several area oil companies, ending with Hartman Oil and Te-Pe Oil. Carney was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.
Carney’s focus throughout his life was his family. He and Marilyn attended every ballgame, concert and school activity of their three daughters and then continued that support at events for their five grandchildren. Carney was the official basketball scorekeeper at Whitewater Junior High and Fredric Remington High school almost 20 years.
Throughout his lifetime Carney served on various community boards including Fairmount Election Board, Rural Water District #7, Whitewater Fire District and was a trustee for Fairmount Township for over 30 years.
Carney was a member of the Whitewater Center Church and later Federated Church, where he attended faithfully for the last six years. His kindness and generosity touched many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Eddie Hinz, brother Glenn Allen Hinz, nephew Jeremy Solomon and his devoted wife Marilyn. Survivors include his brother Wayne Hinz and three loving daughters: Carla (Pat) Ryan of Whitewater, Cathy (Mark) Willis of Newton, Callie (Mike) Hill of Whitewater, grandchildren: Scott (Erica) Ryan, Carly and Matt Willis, Mikayla and Mikinzie Hill, great grandson Peyton, great granddaughter Paislee and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 30th at 10 a.m. at Federated Church in Whitewater. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29th from 6-8 p.m. also at Federated Church. Memorials can be made to: Remington Athletics.

Irma Faye Huffman Campbell, age 93, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas. She and her twin brother Vernon Ray Huffman were born September 24, 1922 to Walter G. and Stella Edna Critchfield Huffman on the family farm in Asherville, Kansas.
Faye, as she was known and loved by all, graduated from Simpson High School and attended Dodge City Community College for secretarial training. She was the secretary for Farm Bureau and the Mitchell County Extension Office. She married Clifford V. Campbell on October 8, 1943 in Beloit while he was on furlough from the Army Air Corps. When he was in the Army they lived in Boca Raton, Florida. After World War II, they moved to the family farm southwest of Beloit where they lived for nearly 70 years. They celebrated 72 years of marriage on October 7, 2015. Faye was a member of the Pleasant View Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the Nifty Needle Club. She enjoyed accompanying Cliff to Topeka for fourteen years while he was in the legislature. In addition to being a wife, homemaker and mother, she served as 4-H Club leader and enjoyed sewing and cooking. Faye was an excellent bookkeeper for the farm, Pleasant View Church, and Center Township.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Loren, Ralph (Red), Ray Huffman, and sister Beulah (Huffman) Chapman.
Faye is survived by her husband Clifford Campbell, Beloit, children Jim (Elaine) Campbell, Jeannine (Ed) Mondero, Ness City, KS, Terry (Charlotte) Campbell. Grandchildren Maria (Robin) Goter, Frederick, CO, Chris (Cierra) Mondero, Beloit, Ashley Campbell, Beloit, Christy (Josh) Miller, Beloit, Nick (Katrina) Mondero, Manhattan, KS, Kendra (Jim) Zimmer, Wichita, Trever (Jessica) Heidrick, Beloit; great grandchildren Goldie, Marina, and Campbell Goter, Frederick, CO, Max Miller, Beloit, Makenzie Zimmer, Wichita, Xander and Jocelyn Heidrick, Beloit. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. THOMAS SPURRIER, 62 died December 25, 2015 at Via Christi Health Center in Manhattan, Kansas. He was born on September 4, 1953 in Wichita, . The son of Edman “Bub” and Violet (Baker) Spurrier.
Tom grew up in the Green Community and graduated from CCCHS in 1970. He lived in Colorado and Kansas. While in Wichita, he worked for a Custom Home Builder. He moved back to Clay Center in 1995. He workedfor the Coonrod Association for almost 20 years. He is preceded by his parents.

HELEN LOUISE LIBY, 85 died December 25, 2015 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, KS. She was born on November 6, 1930 in Miltonvale, KS. The son of John and Marie (Wehking) Gunter.
Louise was raised and attended school in the Miltonvale community. She married Dean Liby on October 29. 1950. Louise was a stay at home mother until she began working at the Clay County Hospital as a nurse’s aide in 1968. She retired in 1996 but continued to work part time for the hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two grandsons, a great-granddaughter and two son in laws.
