Salina Police investigated a report of aggressive panhandling late Saturday afternoon at Walmart, 2900 S. 9th. A white male about 5’9″, 145 pounds, wearing a puffy silver coat, approached several people asking for money. One woman reportedly gave the man a gift card. The man took the gift card into the store, gave it to the manager, and then left.

Someone caused damage to thermostats in the shower and break area for truck drivers at the Pilot Travel Center, 1944 N. 9th, Saturday night. Wires to the thermostats were cut between 9 p.m. and midnight. Total damage has been estimated at $500.

Salina Police investigated a report of damage to mailboxes at the Heather Ridge Apartments, 2130 E. Crawford, on New Year’s Day. Someone pried on all the mailboxes at the complex sometime between 8 a.m. and noon. Total damage has been estimated at $800.

A flatbed pickup that was stolen in Mid-December from Farmers and Rancher’s Livestock, was stolen again between Saturday and Sunday. The 1977 Chevrolet pickup was parked inside a building at 1500 W. Old Highway 40. The truck was found a short distance away Sunday underneath the viaduct on N. Broadway. Keys were not with the truck.

A Salina man is charged with burglary and theft after using a key to gain entrance to a place he used to work. 24-year-old Rex C. Vaughn is alleged to have entered Chuck’s Bar, 600 N. Santa Fe, in the early morning hours of January 2nd and stole an 18-pack of beer from a cooler. Vaughn was arrested a short time later at his home. All but one beer was recovered.

A Salina woman was arrested Sunday after threatening a neighbor with a knife. Patrica Robbins is alleged to have gone into the home of the neighbor in the 1400 block of S. 11th, damaged a door, and flower pot and made threats with a knife. Total damage was estimated at $100.

Police take a report of two $100 counterfeit bills being passed News Year’s Day. The bills came from the same address where Pizza Hut, 1200 S. Santa Fe, made deliveries between 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
