A 29-year-old man was arrested late Monday night after leading police on a chase in which speeds reached 70 mph.

Captain Paul Forrester said Sean R. Sheppard did not stop just after 11 p.m. in the area of 12th and Prescott, when an officer attempted to stop him.

Sheppard finally pulled over in the 1300 block of Kiowa after a couple of minutes. He apparently did not want to stop because of a warrant for a probation violation.

Sheppard was arrested for flee and elude, and numerous traffic violations.
