On Monday, January 11th, work will begin on a bridge replacement on K-140 between the K-140/K-156 and the K-140/K-111 Junctions in Ellsworth County. The existing bridge will be removed and replaced with a new bridge.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, traffic will be will be detoured during this construction. Westbound K-140 traffic will take K-111 north to K-156, then south to rejoin K-140, a total distance of 6 miles. Eastbound traffic will take the same route in reverse.

KDOT says that current plans call for the construction of the new bridge to be completed by April 11th, weather permitting.

The prime contractor for this project is Reece Construction Company, Inc. of Scandia.
