Sterling College – The Southeast of Saline girls finished a stretch of three games in three days with an overtime victory today against the Beloit Lady Trojans, 53-51.

SES trailed early in the contest but came back with a 13-0 run that was led by Kylee Poague scoring 8 of those points. Southeast led by six at at the end of the first quarter and by seven at halftime.

It looked as if SES would cruise to victory as they built a 13 point lead late in the third quarter but state-ranked Beloit would come storming back. Beloit would tie the game at the end of regulation and the two North Central Activities Association teams would need extra time to settle it.

SES scored the first 4 points of the OT led by Montgomery and Poague. The early overtime lead was too much for Beloit to overcome and Southeast would get the victory, 53-51.

Erica Montgomery led all scorers with 27 points and 8 rebounds. Of those rebounds, three of them came on the offensive end which gave Montgomery the record for all-time offensive rebounder in Southeast of Saline history.
The senior already holds the records all-time for most defensive rebounds and total rebounds.

Kylee Poague finished with 10 points and Allison Stutterheim tallied 9 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Southeast of Saline (9-3) will be back in action as they travel to Ellsworth for a league game on Friday, January 29th.
