SALINA, KS ­– February 5th and 6th, the Toughest Monster Truck Tour is coming back to the Salina Bicentennial Center in Salina with five of the nation’s toughest monster trucks, including Bigfoot, Over Bored, Heavy Hitter and the brand-new trucks Dirt Crew and Dawg Pound. Kids (age 2-12) tickets are just $10 outside the gold circle.

Last week, Dan Runte and Bigfoot made a big announcement. After 25 years behind the wheel of Bigfoot, multiple world record holding driver Dan Runte, will be retiring at the end of this tour.

“The past 25 years have been very rewarding, not just being able to drive for the team who created the original monster truck, but also seeing the world and meeting the fans,” said Runte.

Bob Trent of Bigfoot added, “Dan has been a huge asset to Bigfoot and we are glad that he will stay on at Bigfoot as a leader and mentor for our drivers and crew.”

Runte will continue his farewell tour, which is coming to the Salina Bicentennial Center on February 5 and 6. This means that February 5 and 6 is the last time that fans will have the opportunity to see this legendary driver compete in Salina.

Bigfoot was created more than 40 years ago by Bob Chandler and continues to be a leader in monster truck innovation. Bigfoot will still compete at the Toughest Monster Truck Tour events in the future.

In addition to monster trucks on a dirt track, this year’s event will also feature the transforming dinosaur robot, Megasaurus which is always a kid-favorite.

The stars of Toughest Monster Truck Tour will get up close and personal with fans before each event during the Pit Party. Fans holding a pit pass and an event ticket will be allowed onto the floor of the Bicentennial Center before each event. Free pit passes are available at area McDonald’s and discount coupons are available at Casey’s General Store.

The Toughest Monster Truck Tour begins at 7:30 p.m. on February 5 and 6, 2016.
