A 24-year-old man tells police he was attacked with a bat while walking to a convenience store early Sunday morning.

The man said he was going to the Kwik Shop at Fairdale and Crawford at about 1:30 a.m. from the Heather Ridge Apartments, 2130 E. Crawford, when a black SUV or crossover vehicle pulled up along side of him and stopped.

A white male with very bright blonde hair got out and hit the victim twice in the arm with a ball bat. The suspect got back into the vehicle and it left.

The victim said he did not know the suspect. He was treated at Salina Regional Health Center and released.
