Enjoy cinema at Salina Public Library this month.

B Movie Fest features classic horror and Sci-Fi movies. This month, watch “The Brain That Wouldn’t Die” at 4 p.m. Feb. 9. This 1962 film is about a doctor who keeps his girlfriend’s head alive after she is killed. All ages are welcome and costumes and commentary are encouraged. Snacks will be provided. Upcoming B Movies will be screened on Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m. and April 9 at 2 p.m.

Harry Potter fans are invited Feb. 11 and 12. Feb. 11 from noon – 7 p.m. is the library’s Potter Party, where you can watch the first movie, and enjoy snacks and crafts. Costumes are welcome. From 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Feb. 12, the library will screen the remaining “Harry Potter” movies, based on the popular “Harry Potter” book series by J.K. Rowling about a boy and his friends at wizard school. Children, teens and families are welcome.

In remembrance of musician and actor David Bowie, who died Jan. 10, the library will screen “Labyrinth” from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16. The movie tells the fantastical tale of a 16-year-old girl who is given 13 hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother. Bowie played the Goblin King. All ages are welcome.

Actor Alan Rickman, who died Jan. 14, will be remembered with a screening of “Sense and Sensibility,” a film adaptation of the Jane Austen novel, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Feb. 23. The movie, also starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, follows three sisters after their father’s death changes their economic circumstances. Rickman played Colonel Brandon. All ages are welcome.

All of the films will be shown in the Prescott Room on the lower level of the library. Screenings are free and open to the public.
