Salina Crime Report – February 10th

1-16 crime report 2Salina Police were called to Lakewood Middle School, 1135 E. Lakewood Circle, after a student reported seeing someone place something above the ceiling tile in the 8th grade boys bathroom Monday morning. School Staff found four packages of firecrackers above the ceiling tile. The fireworks were discovered at about 9:20 a.m. and the incident was reported to police at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

A counterfeit $10 bill was found in the deposit of a north Salina convenience store on Monday. The bill was passed at Lone Star, 100 N. Broadway, sometime between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. It was later found in the deposit by a store manager.

An audit of a bar led to the discovery of missing cash and alcohol. $600 in cash, $40 in beer, and $20 in liquor was taken from Chuck’s Bar, 600 N. Santa Fe, sometime between December 16th and January 1st. It was reported to police, who are investigating the case as an embezzlement, on January 20th. Total loss in the case has been estimated at $660.
