Saline Co. Food Establishment & Lodging Inspections, February 4-10, 2016

inspectionsFood Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Saline County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from February 4 through February 10, 2016.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

9th Street Diner, 2100 S. 9th St. (February 4) First Operational Inspection After Licenstion
– Macaroni dated as made January 19, tomato soup dated as made January 27. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Approximately 5% of non-stick surface missing on skillet. Corrected on site: removed skillet from use.
– Interior bottom of microwave covered in food debris.

Casey’s General Store, 215 W. Crawford St. (February 9) Follow Up to Administrative Order
– Fountain pop syrup on floor under storage shelf in basement.

Pit Stop, 647 W. Cloud St. (February 4) Regular Inspection
– Popsicles in retail freezer not labeled for individual sale. Corrected on site: found another box of product with label and put next to unlabeled product.
– Carton of allergy medicine dated January 2016. Corrected on site: removed from sale.

Rib Crib #76, 3025 S. 9th St. (February 9) Complaint Inspection
– Bowl stored inside container of frozen breaded okra.
– Open gallon of milk inside bar reach-in cooler not date marked when opened. Corrected on site: dated February 7 to February 13.
– Spatula stored inside container of water at ambient temperature. Corrected on site: discontinued.
– Cut lettuce temperature at 48.1 degrees F and sliced tomatoes temperature at 48.3 degrees F inside make table reach-in cooler. Cooler temperature at 38.0 degrees F since night before inspection. Corrected on site: voluntary destruction.
– Old mouse dropping under booth seats in bar area. Corrected on site: cleaned after lunch business
– Floor between bar mechanical dishwasher and drying rack covered in debris.

Sleep Inn & Suites, 3932 S. 9th St. (February 5) Regular Inspection
– Case of single service cups setting on floor in kitchen area.
– No drainboard available, drying dishware on top of cloth towels.
– Case of canned gravy and packaged waffle mix setting on floor in kitchen area.
