A 19-year-old Goodland woman was hurt in an accident Monday afternoon as she was exiting Interstate 135 to go west on Interstate 70.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan said Shaina Varney was driving a 1993 GMC pickup at about 1:25 p.m., when she failed to negotiate the curve on the exit, and the pickup struck the exit sign.

Varney was taken to Salina Regional Health Center complaining of head and neck pain.

Soldan said speed, wet pavement, and driver inattention contributed to the crash.
