Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for Howison Heights Water District in Saline County

boilwateradvisoryTOPEKA, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded the boil water advisory for Howison Heights Water District located in Saline County. The advisory was issued because of a loss of pressure. Failure to maintain adequate pressure can result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

Public water suppliers in Kansas take all measures necessary to notify customers quickly after a system failure. Regardless of whether the supplier or the system announces the boil water advisory, KDHE will issue the rescind order following testing at the Kansas Health and Environmental Laboratories.

Laboratory testing on the latest samples collected from the Howison Heights Water District public water supply indicate no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
