Two Die In Separate Train Accidents

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) – Two people died in Kansas Saturday when they were hit by trains in separate accidents.

Police say a 19-year-old Hutchinson man died early Saturday after being hit by a train as he tried to cross railroad tracks in Hutchinson.

Hutchinson police Sgt. Eric Buller says Aaron Decker died early Saturday when a northbound Union Pacific train hit him. Two friends with him were not injured.

And police say an elderly woman trying to cross railroad tracks in Wellington died when she was hit by a Burlington-Northern train Saturday morning. The train was slowing down to stop when it hit the woman, whose name was not released.
