The BANK VI/99KG “Cash So Kids Can Splash” program has received a generous $1,000 donation.

A $1000 check was gifted by Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers and Mokas in Salina to benefit kids who could use a day pass or two to cool off at Kenwood Cove water park in Salina.  Julia Zuppan of JRI Management presented the check to BANK VI Senior Vice President Chris Baker.

Cash So Kids Can Splash is a coordinated effort by BANK VI, 99KG, and the City of Salina’s Park and Recreation Department to give day passes to kids in Salina who might not otherwise get to go.  BANK VI President Tom Wilbur remarked, “Freddy’s and Mokas make such a difference in Salina, through their ongoing outreach and generosity, and I know I speak for a lot of kids who will be so appreciative of their help, during these hot Summer days.”

Day passes will be given in coordination with programs with high levels of kids on school lunch programs, and to others with defined need in the community. Funds will be collected over the next several weeks, for distribution of tickets in late July and early August.

Donations can be at The BANK VI drive-through at 1900 S. Ohio, or by mailing a check to “Cash So Kids Can Splash”, c/o BANK VI, P.O. Box 77, Salina, Kansas 67402-0077.

The City of Salina is matching every day pass purchased with another day pass.

“We hope to help a thousand kids or more,” Wilbur said.
