A 31-year-old Wichita man was arrested Thursday on a warrant stemming from an incident where he allegedly forced his way into a north Salina home and beat a man and took a woman’s purse.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Reggie Benoit and an unknown black male entered a home at 719 N. 7th in the early morning hours of March 16th and forced 36-year-old Jose Julia outside the home, where they beat and kicked him. They also took a purse and contents of 53-year-old Luella Garrett. Julia suffered a bump on the head, and a cut and scrape.

Benoit was booked into the Saline County Jail on requested charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and theft. He bonded out of jail Thursday evening.
