On August 4, 2016, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 10500 block of S. Gypsum Valley Road in rural Saline County for a barn and hay bales on fire. A total of 729 alfalfa bales, a 2014 JCB bale loader and the hay shed were destroyed. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the fire as a possible arson.

Total loss is estimated to be about $350,000.
