Robert M. “Bob” Dickerson, 81, of Salina, passed away September 3, 2016. He was born March 6, 1935 to Albert and Gretchen Dickerson in Salina.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Salina, retiring from the City of Salina Parks Department.
Bob loved his family and enjoyed his time fishing. He also enjoyed doing yard work and flowers.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother and baby sister.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce L. Dickerson of Salina; brother, Earl (Barb) Dickerson of Hutchinson; daughter, Pam (Mark) Breese of Salina; son, Robert Kent (Dawn) Dickerson of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Steven (Lisa) Tinkler, Stephanie (Willie) Henley, Rachel (Dalton) McIntire, Drew (Renee) Puckett, Sarah Dickerson, Garrett Buckner, Chase Puckett, Mason Dickerson; great-grandchildren, Keenan, Haeli, Ryen, Kobie, Reese, Easton, Dylan, Lyla, Owen, Reychell.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, with pastor Theresa Forshee officiating. Burial will follow at Brookville Cemetery, Brookville, KS. Visitation will be today at Ryan Mortuary, 4-8 pm, with family receiving friends 6-7.
Memorials may be made to Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, KS. The family wishes to acknowledge the great and loving care given to Bob during his stay at Parkside Homes.

Leola J. Gruber, 92, Minneapolis, died Monday, September 5, 2016. She was born March 24, 1924 in Falun to Ernest and Alice (Walderstedt) Erickson.
Leola and Raymond J. Gruber were united in marriage on April 12, 1944. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; infant son Lyall; and siblings Jerry, Erma Lou, and Virginia.
Survivors include her son Randy Gruber and wife Alice; daughter Tammy Melies; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren including Erin Trickle, Laura Trickle, Alyson Lister and husband Garrett, and Addyson McCall.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 9 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 255 S. Seventh, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis, where the family will receive friends from 6-8. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the First Baptist Church, Minneapolis.

Howard Habluetzel, Jr. 80 years died September 3, 2016 at in Clay Center, KS. He was born on November 19, 1935 in Clay Center, Kansas. The son of Howard Habluetzel, Sr and Lavone Walker.
Howard attended Longford Schools and graduated from CCCHS in 1954. He was a member of the National Guard. He worked for COOP, Clay Center Dehydrating, C&W Rural Electric and drove trucks for Carlson Trucking and Case Trucking. He retired in 2013. He was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church and former member of BPOE and Kiwanis Club of Clay Center. He is preceded in death by Son, Terry in 1997 and one brother.

Peggy Spillman, 94, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 5:15 p.m., Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 while in the company of family members, at Holiday Resort, Salina, Kansas.
Peggy was born in Marquette, Kansas on August 17, 1922, a daughter of Ollie Eugenia (Carlson) and Julius Ferdinand Burnison.
Peggy attended the Marquette grade schools, Marquette, Kansas and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas. She then attended Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church Marquette, Kansas.
Peggy honorably served in the U.S. Army as a Lt in WW II. Peggy was stationed in England with the 118 General Hospital, from 1943 to 1944 in Cirenchester, England where she was a Registered Nurse.
Peggy was a Registered Nurse for the Bonner Springs School District, Bonner Springs, Kansas. She was a home maker and she took great pride in providing for her family. Family members have yet to duplicate her Swedish pancakes.
Peggy was a member of Order of Eastern Star, McPherson. Peggy enjoyed singing, reading and working crossword puzzels, game shows, and spending time with her family.
Peggy Burnison was united in marriage to Earnest Floyd Spillman on December 7, 1945 at McPherson, Kansas. Earnest died on July 19, 1988.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dani Cossette and her husband Jerry, of Salina, Kansas and Marla Spillman, of Fort Myers, Florida; her 12 grandchildren, Sean and Tonya Mills, Jason Mills and Teana Nelson, Chris and Leilani Cossette, Adam and Shannon Cossette, Kristy and Ben Rios, Dustin Spillman, and Shawn Spillman; her 14 great-grandchildren, Katie, Colton, Cade, Collin, Kalynn, Calvin, Elliot, Orrin, Keirah, David, Bradley, Caleb, Blaze, and Logan; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Ollie Burnison, her husband Earnest Spillman, her son, Craig Earnest Spillman; her brothers, Vincent Burnison, Jule Burnison, Blake Burnison, her sister, Juanita Schmitt, and a special friend George Foster.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 1 p.m. until service time at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson.
The funeral service will be held at Glidden – Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 with Pastor James Strasen officiating.
The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas with military honors presented by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 and American Legion Post 24, both of McPherson, Kansas.

Roy Eggers, 89, of Canton, Kansas passed away on Friday September 2, 2016, at 11:50 p.m. at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
Roy was born July 20, 1927, to William and Delia (Seraphin) Eggers near Haddam Kansas. He attended Morrowville High School. In 1946, Roy was baptized at First Baptist Church in Washington, Kansas. During Roy’s senior year in high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for seven years in Korea and Italy. While in Italy, Roy shook hands with President Eisenhower which was one of his greatest memories. After returning home from the military, Roy worked for Stanton Oil in Morrowville and Fairbury. Roy took the exam for the U.S. Postal Service and began working as the postal clerk, city carrier, and rural carrier for Washington, Morrowville, and Linn.
On January 2, 1972, Roy married Lucille (Bowman) and became a stepfather to three children; Daniel, Craig, and DeDe.
Roy is survived by: wife, Lucille; children, Daniel Daharsh and wife, Cindy, of McPherson, KS, Craig Daharsh and wife, Lana, of Gardner, KS, and DeDe Brandes and husband, Kevin, of Independence, KS; grandchildren, Travis Daharsh, Victoria and Eric Wasson, Daniel, Jr, and Heidi Daharsh, Kristina and Brad Rose, Alex Daharsh, Tyler Brandes, and Trenton Brandes; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Daharsh and Riley Daharsh; nieces, Deborah, Delores, Doris, and Donna; and numerous friends and family.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Clara Eggers and Dorothy Wells, and brothers, Martin, Harrold, and Elmer.
Roy has been a member of Grace Bible Church of McPherson since July 2009. His hobbies included archery, bowling, mechanics, cars, two John Deere tractors, and caring for all three children.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, at Ward Funeral Home in Washington, KS with Pastor Rich Duerksen officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

Virgil Eugene Pihl, 72, of Smolan, passed away September 4, 2016.
He was born October 26, 1943, the son of Ted and Lola (Rupe) Pihl in Salina, KS.
On December 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Lucille Hendrix in Falun, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Lucy of Smolan, daughter, Sandy Reidelberger (John) of Smolan, son, Steven Pihl (Joanna Davis) of Smolan, grandchildren: Linnea Bailey (David), Amy Mapes (Cameron), Allysa Pihl, Matt Medley (Elizabeth), Kayla Davis, Greg Davis, and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 8, from 4-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
A Graveside service will be held Friday, September 9, at 2:00pm at Salemsborg Lutheran Church Cemetery.
