Salina Police are investigating the burglary of a vehicle that occurred early Friday morning.

Captain Chris Trocheck said someone forced their way into a 2006 Honda Civic owned by 18-year-old Madison Rupp, sometime between midnight and 8:25 a.m, while it was parked in the 700 block of S. 11th.

A bookbag belonging to Rupp was taken from the vehicle, which contained assorted textbooks, a wallet and a purse.

Trocheck said the burglar damaged a door handle and a window sill to gain entry.

Total loss and damage is listed at $520.
