A tractor is blamed for knocking down power lines in rural southwest Saline County late Wednesday afternoon.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan said 75-year-old Eldon Tillberg of Smolan was driving his tractor in the 7100 block of S. Muir Road at about 4:18 p.m., when the disc wing on the tractor got caught in some overhead power lines, knocking down at least one power pole.

Tillberg was able to contact his wife for help. Westar was also called to the area to repair several lines.

Soldan said there were reports of power outages in the area as a result of the incident.

There were no injuries.
