SALINA, KS – Salina Presbyterian Manor will host its 36th annual soup supper event on Friday, October 21st, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 2601 East Crawford. Tickets to enjoy the homemade chili and chicken noodle soup as well as homemade pies are $8.00 in advance or $9.00 at the door. A shuttle bus will provide transportation from the East Crawford Recreation Area to the door. Eat in from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. or carry-out from 4 to 7 p.m. Let us provide your tailgate food for the Salina South-Salina Central game this Friday.
This event is Salina Presbyterian Manor’s one annual fund raising event. Proceeds benefit the Good Samaritan Fund which serves an important aspect of our mission: to never ask anyone to leave the Manor should they deplete their funds through no fault of their own. The Fund provides financial assistance to those who have outlived their financial resources, enabling them to remain at their Manor home life-long.
Special drawings include a King-size quilt (professionally; pieced, quilted and donated by the artist), eight gift baskets for all occasions, including “Pamper Me” and “Entertainment” and many other items, The silent auction will include two gift cards, each for a one-night stay at the Raphael Hotel in Kansas City, two works of art by Richard Bergen provided by an anonymous donor, a “Celebration” basket with wines and fine snacks, and other items. Another feature is a baked goods and craft sale with home-made and resident created foods and items. A special project this year was a cookbook of family recipes compiled by health care residents titled “Love Chocolate!”
Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America is a network of seventeen not-for-profit retirement communities located throughout Kansas and Missouri. Salina Presbyterian Manor has served Salina and the area since 1980.
