The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pair of thefts from the same rural property north of Salina.

Undersheriff Roger Soldan said the thefts were reported by Keith Buttenhoff of Lincoln, who had been working in a field in the 6400 block of Old Highway 81.

Buttenhoff said someone took a black homemade flatbed trailer loaded with 12 hedge posts sometime between October 4th and October 7th. Total value of the trailer and hedge posts has been estimated at $1,320.

Soldan said thieves apparently returned to the same area sometime between October 21st and October 25th and took a yellow New Holland LX565 Skid Steer Loader owned by Grant Warhurst valued at $6,000.

Buttenhoff reported both thefts Tuesday, according to Soldan.
